"Pressure Free" Statewide Open House This Weekend

If you are interested in buying a new home, you may want to clear your schedule to browse this weekend. Thousands of open houses are being held across the state in a first-of-its-kind 'Statewide Open House'.

Realtors know a lot of people are still on the sidelines waiting for the ideal time to buy, so this is one way to entice buyers to look. Many people have already decided the time is now. In May, pending home sales in the four-county Puget Sound area increased 21.5% from a year ago.

The idea behind the statewide open house is to spur sales, of course. Realtors estimate there will be more than 4,000 open houses held across the state -- or up to 50% more than usual.

Potential buyers will be able to pop in and out of homes for sale with or without a real estate agent. Of course, if you find that Perfect home, call me to help you with all the details of a purchase.

Also, don’t forget the first-time home buyer tax credit of $8,000 expires on November 30th, so people who want to take advantage of that will have to act in the next five months.

Some homes will be open both Saturday and Sunday, others will be open on just one of those days. You can find open house notices on real estate websites or in the local newspaper.
